My Great Musical Find

Why yes, it's another music related post. lol. ;p

I've been looking around the internet as of late for many different sounds and styles in music and have come across a gem. Her name is Linda Varg Eriksson and she is a Swedish singer. I'm sorry it's taken me this long to find her, honestly. But I am American and she doesn't seem to have become popular here yet, so I guess I can be forgiven. lol. I found her, of course, through a random walk through youtube.(I'm sure everyone is familiar with those.)  She was on Swedish Idol 2010,which I don't normally watch but might get into now. haha. ;p  I really like her song Keep Going. It just speaks to me, ya know? And she's a total hotty. ;) There's just something about bubbly red-heads with depth. <3

Let's say that you got a gift
From a long relly long time ago
It's a place on earth
Wouldn't you be glad

And they say that you won't come back
Not until your human body dies
But you can tell us all about it when you arrive
I never want to hear myself say

Why didn't I keep going, or see it coming...?
It's always someone elses fault
Why didn't I hold on to, I let it slip away...?
Theese are the words I never wanna hear myself say.
No way...

If life was really a gift
We're we walk around with a smile
Laughing at mistakes we done before
Take it or leave it was just a thought
I'm not trying to step on your toes
But please try to be kind to people around
Do you wanna hear your self say?

Why didn't I keep going, or see it coming...?
It's always someone elses fault
Why didn't I hold on to, I let it slip away...?
Theese are the words I never wanna hear myself say.
No way... No way...

There is nothing on my mind
Just live it
Gift always has a purpose
So life should be for living

So i'm gonna keep going, and see it coming.
It's never someone elses fault.
I'm gonna hold on to it, won't let it slip away.
Theese are the words I wanna hear myself say.
Today...

Also there's her song Little Bird. <3

That's it for now, Just thought I'd share her to others. She really is quite the treasure. :)

Mabon is near!!!! :D

Well it's been a while since I last posted (big shocker! lol) Since this is "A Witch's Tea and Anime", I think it's well past due time I blog about something Pagan in nature. And what better timing than now! Mabon is soon upon us.Mabon is the mid-harvest festival, and it is when we take a few moments to honor the changing seasons, and celebrate the second harvest. On or around September 21, for many Pagan and Wiccan traditions it is a time of giving thanks for the things we have, whether it is abundant crops or other blessings. It's only two days away, here in the Northern Hemisphere,( I believe Mabon is March 20-22 in the Southern Hemisphere. ^^).  I'm so excited, I even changed my altar today to suit the festivities. ^^ On my altar, I have my usual representations of the feminine and masculine energies of the universe, the elements (earth, air, fire, water), and self representation. Also my trusty Quarts cluster is perched on one of the corners charging. I have some potpourri (Colorado Mountain Breeze), stones, seeds, a little ceramic pumpkin top, leaves, pine cones, an apple, and some berries to symbolize this season of the harvest.

"Depending on your individual spiritual path, there are many different ways you can celebrate Mabon, but typically the focus is on either the second harvest aspect, or the balance between light and dark."

Here is a great link if you'd like to learn more about Mabon and it's history and celebrations:

Here is a lovely video about Mabon:

Also a beautiful Mabon song:

This Mabon I think I'll make some Witch's Brew along with some pumpkin soup and peanut butter brownies. ^^

While I'm showing videos here is a vid by the lovely energetic Flora on how to make Apple Mabon Bread!

And of her making Witch's brew! :

Well that's it for this post. In a few more days I might post pictures and things of how I spent Mabon this year and the treats I'll have made! ^^  Til' then Brightest Blessings All! :)

Goth and Gothesque

For those that are curious or even slightly confused about what the term "Goth" is. :)

Now, one thing to keep in mind is that "Goth" is more of an umbrella term now seeing as there are many(and I mean MANY) different types and variations of Goth. It is basically undefinable, because "goth" means different things to each follower. In fact, Goth is such a wide term that someone could devout a whole blog about just one variation, and some have mind you. ^ ^
Really, the notion of  "goth type" is more of an internal joke than reality. lol. In other words, don't believe to much in generalizations about goths (or any other subculture or person for that matter.)
Anyway in this post I'll try and help you out and cover some of the basics. This vid here by goth author Jillian Venters is a pretty good start for non-goths. You should also check out the other episodes of Gothic Charm School as well, along with her book which is entitled the same.

These websites here have some useful information as well.(and some great pics!)

And just for funnzies, one of my fav readings of Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven. (read by Christopher Walken!!!) ^_^

And now random pics related to the alternative and goth (or that are just gothesque in nature).
hehe. This post has now become a place to dump some of my goth-like pics. bwahahaha! > :)

In many ways Kuroshitsuji can be considered gothesque and quite dark. In my opinion the manga is much better than the anime, though. Don't get me wrong I still liked the anime but it's quite different than the manga version. (Sebastian's personality for one.....)
